DMR would like to congratulate Revenu Québec (MRQ) for the recognition it received at the Institute of Public Administration of Canada’s annual conference last August in New Brunswick. The Indices de richesse (Income Indices) project recently won the Gold award for its innovative management. It is worth mentioning that DMR’s consultants played an active role in the system’s architecture and development.
The Indices de richesse system can identify taxpayers that fail to declare all their income. It can also analyze over 200 billion data items from a variety of secateurs and sources using the latest computer tools, including one of the largest data warehouses in Eastern Canada. Since its creation, the system has recovered $189 million in revenues, a considerable amount given that it costs about $5 million a year to run.
This large project allowed the MRQ to take home some prestigious awards in 2008:
OCTAS in the Technological Innovation 1,000 Employees and Up category (given out by Réseau ACTION TI).
